Ready to Enroll at Diamante?

Visiting Our School

The best way to learn about Diamante and other preschools is to come and visit while in session and observe a class in progress.  This not only gives you a feel for the school, but also how our teachers interact with the students and how student interact with each other an behave.

When you are ready, please give us a call at 630-790-9030, an email at info@diamanteschool.org, or use our Contact Us form.  We will be happy to set up an appointment when convenient to you to visit to our school and speak with you in person. A typical visit usually lasts about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. If possible, both parents should attend.  Children should be left at home with a babysitter.  Before your visit, please take a look at our Observation Sheet to give you an idea of what to look for while you are observing.

On the day of your visit, you will be greeting by our Head of School or Office Manager.  After a brief visit with them, you will be taken to one of our classrooms for your observation time.   Please do not interact with the children except to say hello if they approach you. When your observation is complete, there will be time for any questions that you may have before your visit is complete.

Take some time to look at other schools and compare your options.  This decision is very important for the growth of your child and you should be sure that you are putting them in an environment that they can flourish.  Once you have made your decision to enroll at Diamante, you can follow the steps below.

Enrolling Your Child

Congratulations on your decision to choose Diamante! The first step in process to attend Diamante is applying for admission.

Here are the Instructions for Applying for Admission

Diamante fills up fast, so we recommend getting in your application as early as possible, even up to a year in advance. A major factor in the admission process is based on application date, so submitting your application early is important in helping secure enrollment for your child at Diamante. Even if you are not sure if you ultimately want to attend Diamante, submitting an application with a non-refundable deposit will secure your position for enrollment.

The application form will ask for the school program for which you are applying for as well as the school year that you wish to start. We have a Toddler program for 2-year-olds, a PrePrimary program for 3- to 6-year-olds, and a Kindergarten Enrichment program for children that are kindergarten age.

Once you have applied, your child will be placed on a waiting list for enrollment (unless you have been notified otherwise). All placements for the following school year are made in late February or early March during our enrollment process. At that time, you will be notified if your child is enrolled for the coming school year. If enrolled, a deposit will be required to secure your position for next year.

If you are not immediately enrolled, DON’T DESPAIR! There is a good chance that your child will still be admitted to Diamante! Oftentimes, people move or make other preschool arrangements, so it is very common that spaces will open up in the first few weeks after the enrollment process. We will notify you if and when things change.

After Enrollment

For toddlers, the first official interaction between the teacher and student comes with a home visit. Your child’s teacher and aide will visit your child in your home before school starts for approximately 10 minutes to get to know each other. This helps allay some of their fears by seeing a familiar face on their first day of school.

For all students, school officially starts the day after Labor Day on a shortened schedule (except for Kindergarten Enrichment which starts later). Children attend for only a portion of the day to gradually get them accustomed to their new environment at school. The enrollment packet contains the detailed schedule. After the initial schedule is completed, school continues on normal hours for the rest of the year.

Hopefully the information above helps you in determining the right preschool for your child. If you need more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us to ask us a question about anything that may be on your mind regarding preschool. We’re happy to take the time to assist you in your search.
