The “Practical” Joy of Sewing a Button

Last night, I was fixing the ear of my 4 year old daughter’s stuffed animal.  My daughter was watching and said “I want to sew, too”. She had shown me the sewn button from the work she did at school with Miss Didi.

So I said “Sure!”, then threaded her a needle, handed her a scrap of ribbon and a button. I thought she’d make a little attempt at it and get bored. I was called into the other room and so I left her for a minute. When I came back, she had done this:

You could have knocked me over with a feather! When I was bouncing around with excitement she calmly said “Mommy, I told you I watched Ms. Didi!!”

Practical life in action 🙂 Thank you!!
